RADIO/LIVE IN EDINBURGH: It's the final of the BBC New Comedy Award, with hundreds of entrants whittled down to just six: George Lewis, Sindhu Vee, Jethro Bradley, Lauren Pattison, Catherine Bohart and Michael Odewale. Tickets have long gone, but it's live on Radio 4 at 6.15pm, hosted by Mark Watson.
Monday August 15
LIVE IN LONDON: Based around readings from her new book, plus other stories and songs, The Actual One, Isy Suttie's new show is about that moment in your late 20s when you suddenly realise that all your mates are growing up without you. It starts a two-week run at the Soho Theatre at 7.15pm tonight.
LIVE IN LONDON: ...And why not stick around for the return of the legends of 1990s Edinburgh Fringe anarchy, the Doug Anthony Allstars, who promise a night of 'songs, sex, violence and feminism' with their comeback show. LIVE IN NEWCASTLE: Mrs Barbara Nice, the housewife superstar creation of Janice Connolly who's just about to have her own Radio 2 sitcom, promises 'an hour of proper good fun' in her feelgood show, Raffle, at the Stand.

LIVE IN EDINBURGH: After scouring more than a dozen universities, the Chortle Student Comedy Award reaches its climax. Alumni include Joe Lycett, Simon Bird, Chris Ramsey and Jamali Maddix...what gems will we unveil this year? Mark Watson (him again...) introduces Michael Odewale, Rahul Kholi, Roya Shadmand, Adam Mastrioanni, Morgan Rees, Josh Jones, Tom Gidman and Eric Rushton. Wednesday August 17
LIVE IN LONDON: Indian comedian Aditi Mittal comes to town with a show about the things that women in India aren't allowed to talk about – from sanitary napkins to Indian parents. Mittal has been rated as one of the subcontinent's top ten comedians by The Times of India and recently performed on Radio 4's International Stand-Up show Welcome to Wherever You Are. Things They Wouldn't Let Me Say runs at the Soho Theatre until Saturday.
Friday August 19
TV: Gold screens Monty Python: Live At Aspen, the 1998 reunion which saw all surviving members – plus the alleged ashes of Graham Chapman – take to the stage together for the first time in 18 years. 11.40pm

LIVE IN LONDON: Smooth-voiced Earl Okin's lisping seductions have been a part of the comedy circuit for as long as anyone can remember. Be wooed at Downstairs at the King's Head with a fine supporting bill that includes bewildered Michael Fabbri and ex-Teletubby Dave Thompson as compere.
