A tight 5: July 6

FILMING has begun on the second series of Michaela Coel's much-acclaimed E4 comedy Chewing Gum. The six half-hour episodes will air later this year.

THE original cast of Radio 4 sketch show Radio Active have announced two London dates ahead of their first Edinburgh Fringe run in 27 years. Angus Deayton, Helen Atkinson Wood, Phillip Pope and Michael Fenton Stevens will be at Waterloo East Theatre on July 27 and 28.

ENTRIES are now open for a £10,000 comedy scriptwriting award for people who already have two years' experience in working behind the scenes in TV or film. The Betty Box and Peter Rogers programme is funded by the late producers of the Doctor and Carry On series and will fund four writers, as well as giving them valuable industry support. SHAPPI KHORSANDI has been added to the bill of the Latitude Festival. She will be reading from her first novel, the coming-of-age story Nina Is Not OK at the literature arena. The book is out on July 28. (Preorder).

SOUTH AFRICAN comic Loyiso Gola is to make his British TV debut when he joins the Mock The Week panel next week.
