Ardal O'Hanlon pilots ITV sitcom
Ardal O'Hanlon has shot a pilot for a new ITV family sitcom.
The Berries, which co-stars Miranda's Sarah Hadland, is about what's described as 'your average family … that is to say, completely unique in their own funny ways'.
A 30-minute pilot was shot in London last month by director Luke Snellin, whose credits include The Job Lot, with Cardinal Burns's producer Jenna Jones overseeing the show for Left Bank Pictures.
The Berries has been written by emerging writer Andy Yerlett, who wrote the 2013 retro half-hour film Gutpunch about a teenager who finds out his father is not his real dad, which starred Justin Edwards, Rebekah Staton and Rufus Jones.
O'Hanlon, who plays the father of an Irish teenager in the upcoming abortion film Twice Shy, has specialised in paternal sitcom roles recently, in both the Sky 1 comedy After Hours (pictured) and Channel 4's London Irish.
