People's and judge's choices named

Lauren Pattison and Morgan Rees have won the People’s Choice places in the Chortle Student Comedy Award semi-finals.

We can today also reveal the acts going through as wildcards, as chosen by website editor Steve Bennett, who also judged all the heats.

They are: Joe Bowley from the Warwick heat; Will Blok from Bristol; Rahul Kohli, Frank Foucault, Stephen Ryan and Josh Jones from Manchester; Yaseen Kader from Oxford; Jamie D’Souza from Cardiff; Bennett Bonci and Joe Hollingworth from St Andrews.

Together with the 12 winners of the regional heats listed below, they will now go on to perform at the Tattershall Castle on May 11 (Tickets) and 12 (Tickets)

There they will be seen by a panel of industry judges, who will pick the finalists. As well as going through to the prestigious showcase final in Pleasance One at the Edinburgh Fringe, the finalists also get a chance to perform in the Comedy Arena on the first day of the Latitude Festival in July.
