Kayvan Novak to front spoof news show

New commission from Channel 4

Kayvan Novak is to present a satirical spoof news bulletin for Channel 4.

The Fonejacker star will play a variety of characters, including an American anchorman and range of reporters in the series, provisionally titled Britain Today, Tonight.

And as with most formats, the show will include hidden camera pranks on celebrities, politicians and members of the public.

The series will be made by Objective Productions, whose credits range from Peep Show to Bad Robots, and is the first commission from Channel 4’s new head of entertainment Ben Caudell – who was previously Objective’s head of comedy.

Channel 4 has also ordered two hour-long specials of The Last Leg Goes Down Under in which Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker go on an extreme road trip in the Australian Outback, guided by blind thrill-seeker Amar Latif.
