As Noel Edmonds is pranked

Sarah Millican is to host Deal Or No Deal in a one-off special to mark the show's tenth anniversary.

She will pull a 'gotcha!' on Noel Edmonds, turning the tables on the surprised host – putting him in the hotseat to play the game himself.

He will then face the Banker to play for a potential jackpot of £500,000 for his chosen charity in the special episode, which airs on Channel 4 on September 18 at 8pm.

Edmonds said: 'To be given the chance to play the game I am so very proud to host was a great honour and one of the biggest shocks of my professional life. I hate the Banker even more now! Playing for Children's Hospice South West - a charity very close to my heart - was the icing on our 10th birthday cake.''

Millican, who previously played the game on a celebrity special, said: 'I was thrilled to be asked to guest host Deal Or No Deal on such a momentous occasion.

'Stepping in to the shoes of a TV legend like Noel Edmonds was a bit daunting, but really I was just happy it wasn't me playing the game again – I don't think my stress levels (and IBS) could take another go.'

The Banker commented 'Noel was speechless when he realised he'd been pranked by the one true talent of the show, yours truly. '

More than 58,000 boxes have been opened over the show's 10 years – which, had they been separate boxes, would stack to make 31 towers as tall as the Empire State Building – with more than £40 million given away.
