A tight 5: March 19

A CROWDFUNDING appeal has been launched to raise $125,000 for an official documentary film about US stand-up Patrice O'Neal, who died in 2011 at the age of 41. Producers say they are turning to fans to fund the project to avoid the interference of studio chiefs and 'preserve his brutal honesty and not sugar coat it in a way that may seem more commercially appealing'. The appeal is here.

TERRY JONES's documentary on the financial crisis, Boom Bust Boom, is to get its world premiere at a conference on March 31. It will air on the opening night of the similarly-named Boom Bust Boom Bust: Why Economics Is For Everyone event at the University of Manchester. Tickets are available here.

THE CORNBURY music festival has announced its comedy line-up, headed by Joe Lycett, Katherine Ryan, Aisling Be a and James Acaster. Adam Hess, Felicity Ward, Massive Dad, David Elms, Pierre Novellie, and Elis James are also on the bill. The event, headlined by Razorlight and Tom Jones – takes place at the Great Tew Estate in Oxfordshire from July 10 to 12.

COMEDIAN Tiernan Douieb has released his stand-up show This Isn't For You as a £1.99 download here. Based on last year's Edinburgh show, it was recorded in London in November.

AMERICA is to get its own Red Nose Day, with a three-hour telethon on NBC on May 21. The stars taking part have not yet been named, but Sienna Miller, Christina Aguilera and Mad Men's Jon Hamm have been involved in promoting it so far.
