Return to radio five weeks after collapse

Ted Robbins is returning to his radio show five weeks after collapsing on stage at Phoenix Nights Live.

The 59-year-old will be resuming his weekly show on BBC Radio Lancashire this Sunday.

The news comes three days after he gave his first interview since leaving the hospital where he was treated for his cardiac arrest.

He said: ‘I’m very, very lucky – I plan to keep walking. I have lost a couple of stone but I wouldn’t recommend this as a diet plan.’

Radio Lancashire announced his return via Twitter, saying: ‘We’re delighted to say Ted Robbins returns to the airwaves this Sunday from 9am.’

In his absences, his show was variously filled byfellow Radio Lancashire presenter Glen Hunt, comic and Phoenix Nights Live co-star star Steve Royle, and Ted’s sister Kate.
