Highest rated shows compiled

Mrs Brown’s Boys was the most-watched comedy of 2014.

The Christmas Day edition attracted 9.7million viewers after consolidated catch-up viewing in the subsequent week was accounted for.

In second place was Birds Of A Feather, which attracted 9.53million viewers.

TV industry journal Broadcast has compiled a top 20 of the year’s most-watched shows for today’s edition.

Taking the rest of the top five places are Miranda (8.65million), Sport Rief (8.02million) and Benidorm (7.93 million)

Still Open All Hours and Outnumbered were next on the list.
