League Of Gentlemen consider a comeback
THE League of Gentleman are 'absolutely' hoping to do a new project, Reece Shearsmith has revealed. Speaking to Adam Buxton on Radio 4's Chain Reaction last week, the Inside No 9 star said all four of the team had a meeting scheduled about what ‘might be our next thing'. 'Hopefully it will happen,' he added, ‘but I don't think it would be Rosyton Vasey. I don't think anyone could bear it being that again - but it would definitely be a League of Gentleman project.'
OSCARS producers have been accused of snubbing Joan Rivers after leaving her off the ‘in memoriam’ film shown at last night’s ceremony. Although she had only a limited movie CV, the late comedian’s televised commentary of the red-carpet arrivals had become a high-profile part of the Academy Awards ceremony. The Twitter storm comes weeks after the Grammys also omitted Rivers from their tribute reel.
ALISTAIR McGOWAN is to join other celebrities including Ann Widdecombe and Tyger Drew-Honey in a new BBC One series, 24 Hours In The Past, in which they try to recreated the working lives of people in 19th century Britain. They will spend four days trapped in a rubbish dump, a coaching inn, a pottery factory and a workhouse - all replicated to be as authentic as possible.
CUMBRIAN Tom Little has been crowned Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year; with Norwegian stand-up Ingrid Dahle second. The other finalists on Saturday night were David Jordan, Jake Lambert, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Lolly Adefope, Penella Mellor and Stephanie Laing.
