Shaun of the Dead reanimated
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are to revive their Sean Of The Dead characters for an animated Disney Channel series. The pair will rerun as zombie-killers Ed and Shaun for a Halloween special of Phineas and Ferb. Pegg confirmed the news on Twitter last night.
DEBORAH FRANCES-WHITE is to make her own comedy series for Radio 4 next year. In Deborah Frances-White Rolls The Dice, the comedian will catalogue real events in her life when she had to take a chance: Breaking free from a cult, getting married to stay in the country, finding her biological mother and finally finding her biological father.
LEE EVANS has launched his own iPhone and iPad game, 5 Minutes Mr. Evans! in which players have to guide the comic to his gig in time, dodging obstacles. The app features Evans's voice and music and costs 69p. It has been released to coincide with the start of his new 65-night arena tour, Monsters.
NOMINEES have been announced for the Malcolm Hardee awards at the Edinburgh Fringe. Shortlisted for Comic Originality are three absurdists: The Birdmann, Candy Gigi, and The Human Loire. Up for the Cunning Stunt award are Luke McQueen for conning people into seeing him by persuading it was a secret Frankie Boyle gig; Mark Dean Quinn for originality in flyering, including handing out blank strips of paper to get punters talking to him; and Christian Talbot for deploying his 12-year old daughter Kate to plug his show. The third award will be called the act most, or least, likely to make a million quid depending on whether it's won by Luisa Omielan or Free Fringe founder Peter Buckley Hill.
HOLLY WALSH has won the first Comedy Poster Award at the Edinburgh Fringe taking home £500. She said: 'This will pay for the one giant poster of mine at Cowgate that people are currently pissing against.'
