Another festival reveals all-male line-up
Another outdoor festival has announced a comedy line-up with no women to be seen.
The stand-up tent at T In The Park will this year be headlined by Russell Kane, Lee Nelson and Andrew Maxwell, but today’s announcement includes no female acts.
The event is being staged in a big top sponsored by The Scottish Sun, which is likely to fuel the fire as the newspaper is being targeted by the No More Page 3 campaign over its daily pictures of topless women.
Only last week the V Festival was criticised for unveiling 26 male comics but no women for its two-day event running simultaneously in Chelmsford and Staffordshire.
Sponsored by Tennants lager, the T In The Park festival takes place in Balado, Kinross-shire from July 11 to 13 with music headliners Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys and Calvin Harris.
Also announced in the comedy line-up today are: Des Clarke, John Cooper Clarke, The Ginge, The Geordie and The Geek, Gary Little, Iain Stirling, Mark Nelson, The Wee Man, Keir McAllister, Scott Gibson, Ray Bradshaw, Gus Lymburn, Liam Withnail and Jellybean Martinez.
And Billy Kirkwood will be hosting what’s billed as ‘the world’s only stand up/improv/chat tattoo comedy show, Show Me Your Tattoo, in which the audience talk about their ink. There will also be a Comedy Rap Battle MCed by The Wee Man.
Organisers of T In The Park have not yet commented on the all-male line-up; and the V Festival never has.
