Bafta double for Graham Linehan

Nominated for IT Crowd and Count Arthur

Graham Linehan has a double nomination in the Bafta Craft Awards today.

He is shortlisted in the comedy writing category for both Channel 4’s The IT Crowd and BBC Two’s Count Arthur Strong, which he co-wrote with the character’s creator Steve Delaney.

He faces competition in the category from the Fresh Meat writing team of Sam Bain, Jesse Armstrong and Tom Basden; and James Corden and Mathew Baynton for The Wrong Mans.

Meanwhile, Plebs writers Sam Leifer and Teddy Leifer have been nominated in the breakthrough talent section alongside Dan Smith, who directed David Attenborough's Natural History Museum Alive 3D, Marlon Smith and Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan who directed the Channel 4 drama Run; and Nancy Harris who wrote two episodes of the drama series Dates, also for Channel 4.

However none of the other categories for behind-the-scenes talent such as music, directing, editing or production design features any comedy programmes.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony on April 27 in London, hosted by Stephen Mangan.
