AMERICAN stand-up David Brenner, who appeared more than 150 times on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, died on Saturday in New York at the age of 78. Brenner had been battling cancer, but was performing as recently New Year's Eve. His publicist Jeff Abraham said. Brenner's final resting spot will carry the epitaph: ‘If this is supposed to be a joke - then I don't get it!’. Here he is in action:

SARAH MILLICAN's shows at the Derby Assembly Halls on Turesday. Wednesday and Thursday have been cancelled following a major fire at the venue on Friday night. The comic tweeted that she was 'gutted' by the news.

The brainchild of Robbie Williams, the sporting challenge takes place on Sunday June 8 at Old Trafford and will broadcast live on ITV. Other stars taking part include Damian Lewis, Olly Murs, Matt Smith and Gordon Ramsay as well as soccer aces such as Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher, Paul Ince, David Seaman and Teddy Sheringham.
