AMERICAN comic Jim Gaffigan is to play dates in London and Dublin next year, with gigs scheduled for the Leicester Square Theatre on April 5 and Vicar Street on April 17. Tickets have not yet gone on sale.

LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN star Reece Shearsmith is to appear a concert based on the Grease 2 movie. In Cool Rider, he will play will play biology teacher Mr Stuart, who gives an unusual, musical talk on reproduction. The show will be staged at London's Lyric Theatre for one night only: January 27.

TOMMY TIERNAN will officially switch on the Christmas lights in Bundoran, Co Donegal. The comic star will do the honours on Saturday, December 7.

ISY SUTTIE is taking part in a verbatim theatre project about Jewish life, repeating the words of a genuine interview as she hears in on headphones. The show, Listen We're Family, is the first theatre commission from London Jewish arts centre JW3 and was created by actor and writer Kerry Shale and director Matthew Lloyd. Shale said: 'The joy was that we never knew where the conversation was going to go. There was talk of mental illness, suicide, food, family rifts, food, families with dark secrets, hilarious tales of East End life. Oh, and food.' Here is a trailer:
