Russell Kane set to host clip show

Format in development for ITV

Russell Kane is being lined up to host a new TV show on an old idea: showcasing the best video clips.

However Trumped is based around a panel-show format, with two teams of comedians battling to outdo each other by finding the best and funniest videos in a range of categories.

It is currently being developed for ITV by Avalon Television, makers of Russell Howard's Good News, Not Going Out and Man Down.

The idea was first tested out in front of an audience in January, and now Kane will be hosting a new dry run of the format in front of an audience oat the ITV London Studios next week. See our free tickets page to watch it.

Several TV formats have been developed in recent years to exploit the best clips from the web and obscure broadcasters, including Tim Brooke-Taylor hosting Animal Antics on BBC One, Seann Walsh World on Comedy Central and Paddy McGuinness hosting Paddy's TV Guide on Channel 4, which previously aired Rude Tube.
