Ali G is back
Sacha Baron Cohen is to return to Ali G, filming new material for TV.
The comic is to record new introductions to his original Channel 4 show for a repeat run of the series in America.
Cable channel FXX is to air all the episodes of his landmark series – including ones never before seen in the States. HBO originally aired some, but not all, of the series.
The new intros come after Baron Cohen signed a deal with FX Productions to develop new comedy projects for TV.
Its president of original programming, Nick Grad, said: 'We're thrilled to be in business with Sacha Baron Cohen. He is an amazing talent.
'We're also excited to introduce Da Ali G Show and Sacha's characters to a new audience on FXX. And we can't wait to see how he will incorporate new, original content in the episodes.'
Baron Cohen last reprised the character for the British Comedy Awards last year - taking to the stage in a gold shell suit with 'Savile' written on the back.
He joked: 'Can you believe it's been ten years since I's been on the telly? Times has been tough means me now well skint. These day I has got to buy me tracksuits from second hand shops. Look.'
He turned round to reveal the Savile tag and added: 'I ain't ever heard of this label.'
