E4 has bought the rights to acclaimed new US cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Now Channel 4 has struck a deal with US studio NBC Universal for rights to broadcast the 22-episode first series from January,
The show was which was created by Michael Schur, who co-created the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation, and Dan Goor, who has been a producer on the same show.
Jay Hunt, Channel 4's chief creative officer, said: ‘I'm delighted to bring NBCUniversal's laugh-out-loud comedy about a motley crew of cops to the UK. Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be a real treat for E4 audiences when it launches here in the new year.’
The Hollywood Reporter said of Brooklyn Nine-Nine: ‘It's broad, but funny because it's broad – you get the tone immediately and go with it’ and TV Guide said the show ‘earns its badge of distinction with smart irreverence and sharply defined characters in an admirably diverse ensemble’.
