A tight five: September 6

THE statue of Frank Sidebottom destined for his home town of Timperley is now complete. Artist Paulina Skavova has put the finishing touches to the bronze at her studios in the Czech Republic, and it is now ready for delivery. Fundraisers are still £1,500 short of their target, however, and are planning a final event to make up the difference. The statue is expected to be unveiled in October.

MORECAMBE AND WISE tribute show Eric and Little Ern is to transfer from the Edinburgh Fringe to the West End. It will will run at the Vaudeville Theatre for eight weeks from November 19, but with an irregular schedule. Eddie Braben gave the show rare permission to incorporate some of his sketches, just weeks before his death in May.

ANDY PARSONS is to record his next DVD, I’ve Got A Shed, when his tour visits the Harrogate Comedy Festival on October 13 and 14. The DVD, his third after Britain’s Got Idiots and Gruntled, will be released through Comedy Central later this year.

ALAN DAVIES is working on a new stand-up show called Little Victories. He’ll be touring Australia with it in March next year.

LUISA OMIELAN has announced a 13-date tour of her What Would Beyonce Do? show, starting in Gateshead on October 7 and ending in Holsworthy, Devon, on December 6. Dates.
