Walliams to voice BGT dog Pudsey

In a new movie with other comedy names

David Walliams is to provide the voice of dancing dog Pudsey in a new movie about the fictional adventures of the Britain’s Got Talent winner.

The film, backed by Simon Cowell’s production company, has just started filming in the south of England, and stars a number of other comedy names.

Jessica Hynes plays the mother of three siblings who take in Pudsey, a stray, before they move to the sleepy village of Chuffington-on-Sea.

John Sessions will play their evil landlord – who along with his cat Fautus has an sinister plan for the village – and stand-up Jim Tavare will be a dog-catcher.

Walliams, who is also one of the judges on Britain's Got Talent, said: ‘I am thrilled to be providing the voice of Pudsey. I have been coming up with different voices for him ever since that first audition.’

The film will be directed by Horrid Henry: The Movie helmer Nick Moore, with a script from children's TV writer Paul Rose. It is due for release May 2014.
