THE town of Lima in Ohio has declared July 17 Phyllis Diller Day – after the comedian who was born in the town on that date in 1917. The local council hopes the move might ‘generate economic development’. Diller died last August at 95.

LEGO has announced a tie-up with The Simpsons that will make sets of blocks themed around the Springfield family available around the world from next year.
