Fake Seinfeld tweeter lands real TV job
An aspiring comedy writer has landed a TV job – thanks to a fake Seinfeld Twitter account.
Jack Moore has joined the staff of the American remake of Gavin & Stacey because of his contribution to the Modern Seinfeld tweets.
The feed, created by Moore and Josh Godleman, imagined the hit Nineties show was still on the air, and suggested storylines, attracting more than 600,000 followers.
Sample tweets include: ‘Kramer is addicted to Candy Crush, but suspects one of the levels is impossible to beat. "They're modern day carnies, Jerry! It's a con!"’ and ‘When George's gf goes out of town he can't help finishing the TV show they're marathoning together, then badly pretends not to have seen it.’
It caught the eye of executives behind the Fox show – retitled Us & Them – who signed him up.
Moore told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘I was basically pitching storylines, which is a huge part of being on a writing staff. Here's 400 that illustrated a skill set.’
