Sketchorama to return

Series 3 for Radio 4 showcase

Radio 4 has ordered a third series of sketch group showcase Sketchorama.

Another four half-hour episodes, to be hosted by Thom Tuck, will air in the summer of 2014.

Already the programme, made by Glasgow-based The Comedy Unit, has featured 22 live acts – most memorably the reunion of the Absolutely team.

Producers have hinted that they hope to reunite another classic sketch group for series three, although they have declined to name names.

Radio 4’s comedy commissioning editor Caroline Raphael said: ‘Live sketch comedy is as strong as ever and Radio 4 is delighted to welcome back Sketchorama, which brings the most interesting and cleverest sketch performers and writers to the home of radio comedy.

There are more than 100 sketch comedy groups at the Edinburgh Fringe this year.
