Six more specials ahead

The 8 Out of 10 Cats teams are to take over Countdown for six more episodes.

Jimmy Carr will host, with Sean Lock and Jon Richardson playing and Joe Wilkinson aiding maths wiz Rachel Riley.

A number of guest comedians will also make appearances, including Sarah Millican, Jack Dee, Rhod Gilbert, Jason Manford, Miles Jupp and Nick Helm.

Chortle last month reported that more special episodes were in the pipeline, follows the success of the previous four ‘mash up’ specials, which began in January last year. Now it has been confirmed that there will be six specials, airing over the summer.

Ruth Phillips, managing director of Cats producers Zeppotron, said: ‘It’s such a treat for us to be making more of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, not least because Countdown is such a robust format to have fun with. The combination of both shows means viewers get to play along so it really is something for both quiz and comedy fans alike.’
