Comedy Central gets more Men
COMEDY CENTRAL UK has bought the rights to the 11th season of Two And A Half Men. The series has just been greenly in the States, where it will air from September, and shown on the British digital channel soon afterwards. The broadcaster has shown all ten previous series of the sitcom, which now stars Ashton Kutcher.
PAUL O’GRADY is to join the cast of BBC drama Holby City for three episodes, playing a cancer patient. The comic turned presenter said: ‘I’m a big fan of Holby City so to be featuring in three episodes is absolutely brilliant.’ Executive producer Oliver Kent added: ‘Paul has a vibrant personality and a very unique way of engaging with the audience - not to mention he’s incredibly funny. This is exactly what we need for a storyline that will be filled with a rollercoaster of emotions.’ His episodes will go out in September.
THE sixth season premiere of Parks and Recreation is to be shot in London. The hour-long special of Amy Poehler’s acclaimed comedy will air on NBC in September. The first two series have been broadcast on BBC Four – but there has been no news about the third airing in the UK as yet.
DIGITAL channel Dave is launching a seven-day catch-up service next month with shows including Dara O Briain’s School of Hard Sums and Dave Gorman’s Modern Life being made available through YouView.
HARRY HILL is to headline a fundraiser in Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall in September for a charity set up by the city’s Just The Tonic comedy club. Laughing Matters offers free comedy workshops to people with addictions, mental health problems or young people leaving care. The line-up for the September 13 benefit also includes Tony Law, Paul Foot and Piff The Magic Dragon. Tickets
