Martin switches to CBS

Demetri Martin has signed a deal to create a new show for America’s CBS network.

He will write, produce and star in the programme, which executives have brought blind, so there is no information on what the script will be.

The new deal means an end to his existing Comedy Central show Important Things With Demetri Martin after two series. E4 has just snapped up the rights to air the second season in the UK.

Martin – who won the Perrier award in 2003 – is the ‘senior youth correspondent’ on The Daily Show, has starred in the film Taking Woodstock and appeared in Flight Of The Conchords.
