Sick McIntyre cancels gig

Michael struck down with flu

Michael McIntyre was forced to cancelled his show at the Brighton Centre on Thursday because he felt unwell.

The comic was reportedly struck down with flu, but the rest of his run at the venue this weekend was unaffected. When he performed there on Saturday night, he spent half the gig with his flies undone.

A spokesman for the venue said of the cancellation: ‘It is never something we like to do but Michael is not very well so it is unfortunate, but these things happen.’

The date has now been rescheduled for November 15. The spokesman for the venue added: ‘If customners are unable to attend on that date, a refund will be available from the point of purchase. Refunds must be claimed before the new performance date.

‘Michael McIntyre and the Brighton Centre would like to apologies for any inconvenience caused.’

Last year, McIntyre got so carried away at his encore at the Wolverhampton Grand that he dislocated his right shoulder and had to be carried off on a stretcher – but he was back on stage in Birmingham two days late.

McIntyre will be on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross this week.
