In the Bafta loop

Iannucci's film up for Scottish awards

Armando Iannucci’s political satire In The Loop has been nominated for three Scottish Bafta awards.

Ianucci was shortlisted for best director while its star Peter Capaldi, who plays sweary spin-doctor Malcolm Tucker, is up for the film acting award. Iannuci and co-writers Jesse Armstrong and Simon Blackwell are also up for the writing award as a team.

Meanwhile, Billy Connolly’s interview with psychologist wife Pamela for her Channel 4 series Shrink Rap has been shortlisted for best entertainment programme.

Alos on the list are the Rab C Nesbit Christmas Special, a spoof mockumenrtary about Robert Burns called No Holds Barred and BBC Four sketch show Cowards, though it has little obvious link with Scotland.

The awards will be handed out at Glasgow's Science Centre on Sunday November 8.
