A Day-to-day life

Simon sells rights to his memoirs

Simon Day has sold his autobiography to publishers Simon and Schuster.

The book, which has not yet been titled, will be published in 2011 and chart the Fast Show star’s life and career – from playing truant at school to his addiction to fruit machines.

Simon and Schuster’s non-fiction editorial director Mike Jones said: ‘Simon really brings to life, with vividness and humour, some of the terrible and wonderful things that have happened to him.

‘There's a strong voice to his writing which I am sure will appeal to his many fans.’

Day joins a long list of comedians writing memoirs. This month alone sees releases from Peter Kay, Dara O Brian, Jack Dee and Frankie Boyle.
