Michael McIntyre has blasted Big Brother as ‘terrible’ and ‘absolute nonsense’ – even though he took a job presenting some of the coverage last year.

The stand-up hosted the Big Mouth spin-off for a week last year, helping raise his profile among the show’s fans.

But as the tenth series kicks off this week, McIntyre has said that he hated the job.

He told The Sun: ‘I didn\'t like it at all, I hated it. I thought it was absolute nonsense. I think it\'s terrible, it really is. I think it\'s really dead that format now. I\'d be surprised if they can resurrect it. I\'m not a fan of Big Brother.’

The paper quoted a Channel 4 insider saying: ‘He\'s entitled to his opinion - but he\'s certainly changed his tune from last year.’
