Cross the Atlantic

British debut for US stand-up

Top American stand-up David Cross is to make his British debut this August.

But while all comedy industry eyes will be on Edinburgh, he will be performing in London’s Soho Theatre.

Uncompromising Cross has been touted as a successor to Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks, with  subject matter ranging from the tasteless to the politically astute.

He is best know in the States for his HBO’s Mr Show With Bob And David, which ran for four years, and is currently appearing in Arrested Development, which the BBC plans to air in the autumn.

His debut album Shut Up You Fucking Baby was nominated for a Grammy, and his follow-up It’s Not Funny is out in the UK this September.

Cross will be performing from August 9 to 28, with tickets in the first week priced £10, then rising to £15.
