Movie sketch series for Ronni

Ronni Ancona is working on her first solo show for the BBC - a sketch comedy based on the history of film.

The award-winning comic and impressionist is currently writing the series, based on one of her passions.

She will also star in the programme, tentatively titled Cinerama, although filming is a long way off.

The 33-year-old told The Express: "Cinema is a real passion for me, and doing this sketch show series is something I've wanted to do for a while.

"There is so much scope as it will be condensing so much material and so many films.

"There is no set date yet for filming, and I'm approaching a number of people to be part of it, but it is all very much in the early stages."

Ancona was named best new TV talent at the Tric awards earlier this week.
