Foster lands radio job

Comic turns broadcaster

Comedian Toby Foster is to take over the afternoon show on BBC Radio Sheffield.

But the new job means he will have to cut down on his stand-up - although he will continue to compere the city's Last Laugh comedy club and work with the Men At Work team at the Manchester Comedy Store.

Foster takes over the 2pm-5pm weekday show from Tuesday April 2, mixing music and talk.

He told Chortle: "I'm really excited about it. It does mean that I'll be doing slightly less stand-up, though I will be continuing at The Last Laugh, and will still work Friday and Saturday nights."

Radio Sheffield is the third largest BBC local radio station in the country,
