Class clubs

You name UK's top comedy venues

Comedy punters and performers have named their favourite clubs in Britain.

More than 500 people voted in Chorlte's poll to find the best venues across the country.

In London, the titles went to comedian Malcolm Hardee's Up The Creek in Greenwich, and Amused Moose Soho.

The Stand proved its domination in Scotland, with its Glasgow venue clinching the title, with its original Edinburgh home as runner-up.

The Glee Club was another major winner - its Cardiff venue being named best club in Wales and the West, and its other outlet, in Birmingham, coming second to Nottingham's Just The Tonic in the Midlands region.

Other top-rated clubs were Manchester's XS Malarkey, and Komedia, Brighton.

The comedians who have won Chortle awards will be named at 3pm today.
