Jupitus sings Britney

Phill entertains...

Phill Jupitus entertained a comedy club audience with a rendition of a Britney Spears hit last night.

The Never Mind The Buzzcocks star belted out a slowed-down version of Hit Me Baby One More Time at the club in central London.

His repertoire also included Oasis's She's Electric and The Smith's Panic, with its chorus of 'Hang the DJ' particularly apt as Jupitus has just landed a job hosting 6 Music's breakfast show on BBC digital radio.

Later, comedy actor Kevin Eldon, best-known for his appearances alongside Alan Partridge, also joined the band, Ronnie and The Rex, on stage to perform Tom Jones's 1965 hit It's Not Unusual.

Ronnie and the Rex is the band fronted by stand-up Ronnie Golden, and is the house band at the monthly Club Senseless Goes West, where Jupitus and Eldon made their appearances.

The event takes place in the legendary music venue The 100 Club, where bands such as the Sex Pistols and The Rolling Stones made early appearances.
