Three Lions' share

Baddiel and Skinner owed royalties

David Baddiel and Frank Skinner have still not collected their royalties from their football anthem Three Lions.

They are on a list of some 7,000 recording artists owed money for the times their songs were played on the radio or TV, or in pubs andclubs.

But the organisation that distributes the proceeds, Phonographic Performance Limited, claims it cannot trace the performers even though the list contains some of the biggest names in music.

Adam Ant, Alanis Morisette and Shirley Bassey are among those who will share in the multi-million pound pot of unclamed royalties.

Bizarrely, Baddiel and Skinner are not owed money for their original Euro 96 hit, but the revamped version released two years later to coincide with the World Cup.

The amount they stand to recieve has not been disclosed. PPL said most artists on the list will be in line for payments of between £25 and £300, alough some will have "substantial" sums waiting.

A spokesman said: "There has been work done to try to track them down, but it's got to the point where we want to get rid of this money."
