Amandaland trailer
The BBC has released the trailer for its Motherland spin-off Amandaland.
The London-set comedy revolves around Lucy Punch’s snobbish character Amanda having to downsize post-divorce and move away from chichi Chiswick to South Harlesden, or ‘SoHa’ as the estate agent euphemistically calls the area around Wormwood Scrubs prison.
Amandaland was created by Helen Serafinowicz (whose brother Peter is also in the cast), Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh and Barunka O’Shaughnessy. All but Horgan have scripted the show, with Ghosts’ Laurence Rickard also on the writing team.
In the six-part series, Amanda has to try to get her head around raising teenagers, dealing teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety.
It is due to drop on iPlayer on February 5.
