Bangmouth Village

Christopher Bliss creates a dreadful soap opera

Christopher Bliss – the talentless writer created by comic Rob Carter – has made his own soap opera.

Bangmouth Village is described as ‘the best worst soap opera ever made’ and tells of what happens when notorious bad boy, Billy Bangmouth (played by Christopher) is released from prison.  What follows is a village-wide web of lies, adultery, drugs, violence, mystery, gossip and death.

Bur producers, including Steve Coogan’s production company Baby Cow, say: ‘We cannot stress this enough, IT IS DREADFUL. The dialogue doesn’t fit the action, the casting is way off, the characters change their mind impossibly quickly, non sequiturs are rife and people keep leaving the scene to go to the toilet - Christopher’s go-to way of getting a character to exit.’

They liken the show – which will be released as three three-minute episodes on successive Thursday – as Tommy Wiseau’s cult film The Room mixed with Emmerdale.

The cast also includes Justin Edwards, Harriet Kemsley, Kellie Shirley, Ed Easton and more.
