Weekend Update with Michael Che and Colin Jost

Saturday Night Live returned for its landmark 50th season last night – with plenty of fodder for their tropical jokes.

Colin Jost and Michael Che kicked off their Weekend Update segment my commenting on Donald Trump calling presidential rival Kamala Harris 'a mentally disabled person'.

The section also included jokes about New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams being indicted and the report into the security failings around the Trump assassination attempt.

Later in the segment,   Bowen Yang played Moo Deng, a pygmy hippopotamus who went viral:
