Inside No 9: The Curse of the Ninth

Here’s a preview clip of the penultimate Inside No 9, entitled The Curse of the Ninth.

Shot in period-drama style, the episode revolves around a genuine classical music superstition: that composers are fated to die while or after writing their ninth symphony.

Mahler, Beethoven and Schubert are among those who died before or during the writing of their tenth symphonies.

In writing about the curse, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton are following in prestigious footsteps – as it was previously addressed in the 19th season of Midsomer Murders.

Set in Edwardian times, the  Inside No 9 features  Shearsmith as talented piano tuner Jonah, who visits a large country house owned by Pemberton’s Dickey.

The cast of the episode – to air at 10pm next Wednesday – also includes Natalie Dormer, Eddie Marsan and Hayley Squires.
