Trailer for We Are Lady Parts
C4's new comedy about a female Muslim punk band
Channel 4 has released the first trailer for its new comedy We Are Lady Parts.
Written and directed by Nida Manzoor, of Hounslow Diaries fame, the six-part series revives around all-female Muslim punk band.
The group comprises Amina Hussain (Anjana Vasan), a geeky microbiology PhD student, who’s on the lookout for love; fierce and enigmatic frontwoman Saira (Sarah Kameela Impey); and taxi-driving drummer Ayesha (Juliette Motamed) and cartoon-drawing bassist and backing vocalist Bisma (Faith Omole).
We Are Lady Parts is set to air on Channel 4 later this summer, although no broadcast date has yet been confirmed, and on the streaming platform Peacock in the US.
