Long-lost trailer for a 1977 comedy film

A trailer for a long-lost Carry On classic based on the Star Wars films has been unearthed.

Carry On Up The Empire starred Sidney James as Sid Kenobi; Joan Sims as Joan Solo; Kenneth Williams as Daft Vader; Jim Dale as Jimmy Skywalker and Charles Hawtrey as C3P-oh.

Now footage from the 1977 classic can bee seen for the first time, thanks to YouTuber Doctor Random.

Not that the film ever really existed, of course, The creator says: ‘It’s an idea that got into my head and I had to have a go at making it.  As with most of my homemade nonsense it’s shoddy in places, but I think it’s a bit of fun and I enjoyed making it.’
