Both Croft & Pearce are 25 weeks pregnant

Some double acts like to do everything together – but this is taking things to extremes,

For both members of Radio 4 sketch duo Croft and Pearce are 25 weeks pregnant.

Hannah Croft and Fiona Pearce, who have been friends since school, became pregnant within days of each other at the end of last year.

In an email to Chortle they said – jointly of course – ‘Our main feeling about this happy news is that it’s really, really weird.

‘Did we plan it? Were we together when it happened? Was it witchcraft? The answer is no, no, and absolutely yes.’

The timing means they won’t be at the Edinburgh Fringe this year as there was ‘the very real possibility that one or both of us might birth a child live on stage, so we thought we’d spare people that joy’. However they are at London’s Museum Of Comedy next week as part of their second UK tour.

Hannah and Fiona also both went to Oxford University, where Hannah studied French and Italian and Fiona studied English. Both then trained as actors, but at different drama schools.
