Michael McIntyre has fractured his leg while playing football with his kids.

The comic has appeared on stage at the Adelphi Theatre in London with his right foot in a support boot – prompting him to comment on the irony.

The Sun reports that he sustained the injury during a friendly kickabout – and photographed him while out shopping wearing the device. The star has two sons, Lucas and Oscar, with his wife, Kitty.

Meanwhile, Abandoman frontman Rob Broderick has been performing his normal high-energy improvised comedy raps sitting down, after breaking his knee at the Melbourne International comedy festival.
