JoJo Maberly wins Bristol Comedy Competition

Part of city's new festival

JoJo Maberly has been crowned winner of the first Bristol Comedy Competition.

The musical comedian, who made the final of last year's BBC New Comedy Award, wins £500 cash plus the same again in paid work. She was picked by the night's only judge, comedy critic Bruce Dessau.

A total of 240 acts entered the competition, run as part of the city's new comedy festival.

Maddie Coombes was runner up, with Vinny Shiu, Daisy Doris May (as Steve Porters), Emma Hughes and Omari Douglas also taking part in the final.
