Andy Zaltzman writes a cricket book
Comic and Test Match Special statistician Andy Zaltzman is reportedly writing a humorous book inspired by his obsession with cricket.
A History Of Test Cricket In 26.52 Statistics was made available as a pre-order with a publication date of November 20.
However since the news was first reported the title has disappeared from several online bookstores, and Chortle understands nothing had been agreed. Others stores are now giving a publication date of early 2027.
The publisher’s blurb for the book says: ‘Cricket can be confusing and Test cricket can be slow and last days. Thankfully, Andy Zaltzman is here to chart the sports rise, enduring popularity, and uncharted future. Drawing on a huge spreadsheet on information, this is a hilarious and accessible introduction to the beloved sport.’
Zaltzman previously wrote Does Anything Eat Bankers? in 2008, about the global economic meltdown.
News of his cricket book had been first reported by the British Comedy Guide.
