Claudia Trentino named best new (old) act

Comedy competition for the over-35s

Claudia Trentino has won 2024's West End New (Old) Act of the Year comedy competition.

The competition was set up for new stand-ups aged over-35s with the aim of ‘smashing the age glass ceiling in comedy.’

Around 100 acts applied for the competition, with Steve Holmes and Matt Withers named runners-up and David Ingram scooping the Audience Vote award.

The winner receives ‘a small amount’ of cash.

Other new acts appearing on the final – at the Carpenter's Arms in Central London last night–  were:  Kat Dellar, Chris Ford, Daniel Cohen, Claire Cox, Jimmy Tam, Sophie Sconcia, Paul Steer, Joanna Phaure, Marc Salmon, Prakash Mistry and Chris Smith.
