Leicester Comedy Festival announces its 2025 programme

Biggest event yet, with 720 shows

The Leicester Comedy Festival has announced its 2025 programme, which will be its biggest yet.

The event will feature 720 shows in 72 venues across Leicestershire, with big names including Katherine Ryan, Milton Jones, Seann Walsh, Darren Harriott and Zoe Lyons.

It also incorporates the seventh UK Kids’ Comedy Festival with shows including Marcel Lucont and The Mighty Kids Beatbox.

Festival patrons Eshaan Akbar, Rosie Jones, Stewart Lee and Sikisa who will all be performing, with Akbar and Jenny Eclair interviewed live on stage.

It has also been announced that Maisie Adam will host the preview show at De Montfort Hall on January 10.

Charlotte Laidet, festivals director at Big Difference, the charity behind the festival, said the events ‘have a crucial economic and social impact on the city and county’.

She added: ‘In a cultural sector still suffering from the pandemic, and other external factors, as an audience member, you can help save the industry simply by going to events. Go and see your favourite TV personality, but also take a risk on someone you don’t know who might be the future star of comedy.’.

The programme for the festival – which runs from February 5 to 23 –  is available here and tickets go on sale from 10am on Friday.
