In new US miniseries

Sharon Horgan is to play the mother of Amanda Knox in a new mini-series about the American wrongly jailed for murder in Italy.

The Bad Sisters and Catastrophe co-creator will play the ‘desperate but optimistic’ Edda Mellas in the Hulu series.

Grace Van Patten plays Knox, who was jailed in 2007 for the killing of her British flatmate Meredith Kercher, another student, in Perugia.

She was freed on appeal in 2011, and exonerated four years after that. In 2020, known burglar, Rudy Guede was convicted of Kercher’s murder.

News of Horgan’s involvement was announced by Deadline.
