Two comedians to get £500

Entries have opened for The 99 Club’s annual bursary scheme for rising female and non-binary comedians.

Two stand-ups taking  their first full-length solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe will each receive £500 towards their costs. Another three acts shortlisted to perform in a showcase next month will each receive £100.

A spokesperson for the London club said: ‘The 99 Club is dedicated to platforming diverse voices and always looks forward to collaborating with the many hilarious female and non-binary comics out there.’

Previous recipients of the bursary  include Helen Bauer, Sikisa, Lara Ricote, Sophie Duker, Janine Harouni, Catherine Bohart and Sarah Keyworth, pictured who went on to win the most outstanding show award at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Award
